Datum’s Government Solutions team is currently looking to hire an experienced Configuration Manager. The Datum Configuration Manager will provide the Air Force Learning Services Ecosystem (AFLSE) program with configuration management support to ensure system availability, integrity and confidentiality. The AFLSE program is located at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. AFLSE is a cloud-based learning ecosystem that will allow students to learn anywhere, anytime and on any device.

The Configuration Manager will plan and execute configuration management control responsibilities for a fast-paced large-scale Air Force program deploying several different commercial software applications to cloud environment. The Configuration Manager will use of configuration management tools for configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, configuration verification and audits, product release and delivery, and preparing and executing software builds and deployments. The Configuration Manager may need to develop scripts to supporting software build cycles, providing configuration management support to development teams and interfacing with other engineering disciplines to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated and have an assertive yet professional demeanor, a high technical aptitude, be detail oriented, and possess strong multitasking skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Ensure configuration and change control processes are followed and updating the configuration management plan when necessary
  • Lead the configuration control board meetings prioritizing requirements, change proposals, problem reports and discrepancy reports (major, minor, etc.) and coordinating, administering and monitoring configuration management activities
  • Maintain requirement conformance by auditing delivered software ensuring that changes are associated with an approved requirement
  • Responsible for ensuring configuration management and requirements management processes conform to program requirements
  • Develop and maintain processes and checklists for use by the developer community to ensure configuration management practices are being followed
  • Maintain technical and administrative management of baselined products for the AFLSE Azufe Cloud environment and services in multiple environments using Microsoft Azure DevOps Services and Server
  • Maintain a system to track, report, and audit AFSLE configuration items to program and project manager
  • Maintain tracking of change proposals, problem reports and discrepancy reports
  • Maintain configuration management control of approved release configuration items into production
  • Perform periodic audits of the AFSLE program configuration items
  • Establishing, managing and controlling the configuration management plans, work products and tools
  • Identifying and placing external deliverable software products, designated internal work product, and designated support tools used by project personnel under configuration control
  • Preparing preliminary/final software release packages, migrating software from development to test and finally preparing production software for release
  • Serving as the administrator for configuration management tools and applications
  • Provide input into estimating engagement activities and execute engagements following the Agile methodology including SCRUM

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems or other IT related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in configuration management discipline on software intensive projects
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Possess strong technical and configuration management software tools specific skills
  • Ability to interact with junior and senior personnel
  • Ability to effectively assist with user support / reporting community questions and inquiries
  • Ability to organize and execute formal training in a group setting when needed
  • Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with Department of Defense rule, regulation and policies (preferred)
  • Expert analytical, written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Expert in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Word)
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a government led Multi-Functional Team (MFT)
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work within a team and independently
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting stringent deadlines

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Manager.
